Wandering China

An East/West pulse of China's fourth rise from down under.

A selection of quotes on China

“I don’t like Japan, but we need to know the disparity. Japan’s territory is 1/25 of China’s, but the GDP/productivity of one Japanese person is equivalent to that of 33 of our countrymen. Japan’s illiteracy rate is zero, while the percentage of those who receive elementary and middle school education is 100%, and 48% of their total population have college educations. Japan has 12 Nobel Prize winners, while China’s education system is comparable to 1920s Japan. Forests cover 12% of China, 67% of Japan, and yet China exports massive amounts of wood to Japan.” – Popular Sina Weibo post by @趣味儿经济学 (April 2012)

“There are some bored foreigners, with full stomachs, who have nothing better to do than point fingers at us [China]. First, China doesn’t export revolution; second, China doesn’t export hunger and poverty; third, China doesn’t come and cause you headaches, what more is there to be said?” – First Secretary of Secretariat of the Communist Party, Xi Jinping

“Change in today’s China is rarely bottom-up and sweeping in nature. If there’s going to be change, for now it’s going be incremental and it will come from the top down.”Fareed Zakaria

There are 2 forces in this universe…one of light, one of darkness and the infinite variations of yin and yang. The Jews, the chosen people, have brought chaos and misery to every country that they have inhabited through out history are the champion of one force. China, the only civilization in existence and with no imperialist history is the champion of the other!
